Project Retro – #003 (SOLD) Nintendo NES with 10 Games for $93.75

This bundle was parted out in many different trades and sales. Before even receiving this bundle, I had sold one of the controllers as part of a bigger sale for about $10. One of the users from GameTZ wanted a good, clean copy of Goal! Two. Though the manual wasn’t in the best shape, the cart and label were pretty excellent. Sold Goal! Two for $20. The rest of the bundle were also sold to someone...

Project Retro – #003 (SORT) Nintendo NES with 10 Games for $93.75

Finally got my hands on the NES System and games. The system was a bit dirty but after some alcohol wipe cleaning, it looks great! The games are as expected, with little to no damage on the labels. Sadly, Contra has a bit of label wear. All in all I am pretty happy with the bundle. This is a list of what came with this bundle: NES System Deck 2x Official NES Controllers Official AC Adapter Super Mario...

Project Retro – #003 (BUY) Nintendo NES with 10 Games for $93.75

Project Retro Stats Bankroll: $109 After #003: $15.25 # of Games in Library: 13   Finally, a real retro bundle! After my disappointment with both #001 and #002, I was glad to have found this bundle at a bargain. So from the picture and seller’s description, it looks like we are getting: NES Systen with hook ups and 2 controllers 10 Games Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt Commando Deadly...

Project Retro – #002 (SOLD) Xbox 360 Elite 120GB with 26 Games for $100

Project Retro #002 is finally wrapped up. I had some difficulty moving the Xbox 360, I had no idea the system has declined in popularity THAT much. Also games were hard to sell as well, even with bundled prices of $2 to $3 dollars a piece, I didn’t get any enthusiastic responses. Some interesting things happened with #002 behind the scenes. First, the Elite 120GB System was traded to someone...

Project Retro – #002 (BUY&SELL) Xbox 360 Elite 120GB with 26 Games for $100

Bankroll: $113 After #002: $13 Typically, I wouldn’t go with something as “new” gen as Xbox 360, but I thought that was too good of a deal to pass up. I can always keep a few games and sell the rest for about the same as I paid for. Xbox 360 has been on the decline though. Since the release of Xbox One and the announcement of its backwards compatibility, Xbox 360 Units have been dropping...

Project Retro – #001 (SOLD) Nintendo DSi Lot with 11 Games for $90

Finally, this wraps up #001. Here is the breakdown: Trace Memory for $13 (GameTZ) Pokemon HeartGold for $50 (eBay) DSi System w/Games for $40 (eBay) Total: $103 Games Kept: NDS – Brain Age (Complete) NDS – Mario Kart DS (Complete) Summary: As this is the first trial for Project Retro, I don’t think Nintendo DS/DSi/DSi XL bundle is the best way to fulfill Project Retro’s goals....

Project Retro Mission Statement Update

While I am still working out Project Retro’s Mission Statement, there needs to be a critical fundamental change. In the original post, I wanted Project Retro to grow and be able to make profit while still growing a library of games. Because in the end, money will accelerate the process of buying more games for the library. But I was wrong about one thing, when you are trying to make a profit,...

Project Retro – #001 (SELL) Nintendo DSi Lot with 11 Games for $90

I immediately started the selling process. Depending on the prices, sometimes it can take a while to find the right buyer at the price we want. But this is our first batch so I think I am going to try to finish as quickly as I can without trying to gain too much out of this one. Trace Memory was sold for $16 shipped at GameTZ. After shipping, we should net about $13. I am having some trouble selling...

Project Retro – #001 (SORT) Nintendo DSi Lot with 11 Games for $90

Received the package from seller this weekend. Surprised to find that the copy of Pokemon HeartGold is in excellent condition and is complete with manual! In fact, all of the games are in very good shape. Did some preliminary research on how much to sell the games. HeartGold is ranging from $40, all the way to $65. Trace Memory has become a cult hit and is getting at least $15, with some as high as...

Project Retro – #001 (BUY) Nintendo DSi Lot with 11 Games for $90

Starting Bankroll: $100 04/27/2016: $10 This is the first haul for Project Retro. I am pretty excited, because I think from this lot we can make at least $20 and maybe keep a game or two. One of the games included is worth about $45, so it should be easy to sell the rest of the games and system for $60+. Here is what is included:   So here is my quick break down without checking sources, let’s...
